International Day of Girls in IT

Did you know that every year we celebrate International Day of Girls in IT? This day is aimed at promoting the involvement of girls and women in the field of Information Technology (IT) and raising awareness about the gender gap in the technology industry. We at Kyndryl decided to introduce to you how the women power in IT looks like. Come and join us on a journey full of sessions focused on several interesting technical and soft skills topics. You can also look forward to special guests from Microsoft! This event is open to anybody (not only girls) who is interested in IT field.

9:00 - 9:45 - The Moment of Lift - How have I landed in IT
Speaker: Maria Falkiewicz-Gancarz

"Maja" has been working in Kyndryl (IBM) since 2010, currently Vice President, Kyndryl Czechia Center Leader. Culture Change Ambassador and European Leader for Healing Minds and Bodies. Having background in psychology, she is deeply involved in subjects related with personal development, changing the way they think and leadership behaviors.

Incident and Outage management is one of the important responsibilities of a DevOps engineer. It's the on-call person who gets alerted to an incident and starts the investigation. Serious incident often needs to bring in people from other teams, developers to help understand a recent change, or the network team to look at traffic routing.

Maria Bogdanova: Marija Bogdanova, a seasoned IT professional with 8+ years of experience, is currently serving as a Senior SRE Engineer at Microsoft Prague. In her session, she'll discuss core pillars of IT Infrastructure Systems and how DevOps practices enhance architecture setup, maintenance, and improvement. The goal is to provide clarity on IT Infrastructure, introduce modern DevOps practices, and inspire students to focus their future learning."

Speakers: Simona Sestrienková and Aleksandar Stankovic

Simona, Data Science Chapter Lead, joined Kyndryl in 2015 as a Delivery Analyst. With experience in business program management, she now connects professionals worldwide. Outside work, she enjoys sewing, traveling, skiing, and trying new foods. Aleksandar, Data Scientist at Kyndryl, joined as a Junior Data Analyst Intern 5 years ago. Specializing in Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and Mainframe technologies, he constructs analytical dashboards. In his free time, he enjoys music production, podcasts, and sports.
